I tend to be a beauty product junkie …with the exception of lip color. When it comes to my lips, I’m more of a chapstick and neutral lip gloss type of girl. Even a good quality lip gloss can make my lips feel thick and heavy, which is why I switched to chapstick. Sometimes chapstick can make my lips feel over moisturized and unfortunately lipstick doesn’t offer me enough moisture! Ugh… What’s a girl to do?
Despite my mixed feelings about chapstick, lipstick and lip gloss, I tried the LeCosmetique lip palette and found it to be refreshingly amazing.
What I liked: For starters the price! $17.95 is relatively inexpensive for 10 different colors, especially when I’m used to paying over $40 for a palette of only 6 colors. Secondly, the colors in this palette are neutral and have high quality pigment in addition to being rich and creamy. Luckily, this means I didn’t have to apply a lot before the colors began show. Last but not least, I don’t think I have ever used a product on my lips that is so moisturizing. Not even lip primer! It’s light weight and it doesn’t feel greasy. I loved the fact that I didn’t get that icky line film on my lips that I usually get from the lip products being too thick and heavy.
What I didn’t like: The packaging! There was nothing to differentiate the colors from each other, so I honestly couldn’t tell you which ones are my favorites. There was absolutely no branding on the palette or the box it came in. In fact, you can’t even tell the palette is produced by LeCosmetique. As a consumer I’m a bit skeptical of any product without branding if a company can’t stand by a product enough to put their name on it.
Sad to admit, but I– like so many of you other ladies, will be compulsive and buy something just because it comes in a cute box with matching tissue paper or just because the compact is really cute. LeCosmetique’s lip palette is definitely worth my money, so I would love to see the boring all black package turned into something CHIC!
Packaging aside-LeCosmetique you have just found yourself a new customer!
