With spring Fashion Weeks in full swing and the near arrival of MBFW in New York City, it feels as though there is a necessity to be armed and ready with the most current street style. But how do you choose between all of the trendy pieces in your closet? Which ones have been overdone? Which pieces are classic? What colors have gone stale? Here are a few tips for what you should keep at the ready, what investment pieces can be packed away until next fall, and which trends and over and done.
Baroque details, the Céline tote, luxe sweatshirts, printed pants, and wedge sneakers are all trends that are here to stay in the new year. Mix and match, with the perfect hair and accessories, to have the most up-to-date look the streets will see this spring!
Leather-sleeved jackets and leather-look pants were perfect for the snowy streets of Paris, but as the days get longer our need for this luxe look wanes. To Kiss Goodbye:
Pajama-inspired pants, comfy as they were, have seen their time pass. This not-so-chic trend can be left in the snow, making room for linen pants in line with the vacation-inspired collections of designers like Isabel Marant and Olivier Rousteing.
You certainly can guess why oxblood is out: to make room for it’s color-wheel contrast, Emerald! The 2013 color is much lighter, brighter, and bubblier! An excellent way to welcome in spring.
