Marc Jacobs and Diet Coke have joined forces for the 2013 “Sparkling Together for 30 Years Campaign” for Diet Coke’s 30th anniversary. Jacobs will represent the brand by creating a limited edition collection of bottles and cans to celebrate and capture the three decades of female empowerment of the ’80s, ’90s and ’00s.
Jacobs, Parsons School of Design Alumni and American designer , is the creative director for Marc by Marc Jacobs and the French Design House Louis Vuitton. He is known for his chic designs and stylish signature style that makes this partnership of a style icon and iconic beverage a powerful blend.
In a recent interview with the Coca-Cola Company, Jacobs stated, “I felt very privileged to be asked to do this in the first place… because of course I’ve admired the work of the other designers who have participated in this project in the past. Coke and Diet Coke are iconic brands… and I like an icon.”
Diet Coke, first launched in August 1982 in the United States, is now one of the world’s largest and most popular low calorie soft drinks and is available in over 150 markets around the world. It was the first new brand to use the Coca Cola Trademark since 1886 and continues partner with cultural icons in ground breaking, health conscious and fashion forward efforts.
The limited edition cans will be available in March 2013 across Northern Europe and Nordics.
