The 2013 85th Oscar Academy Awards showed some exceptional style. There were so many beautiful looks that could easily be duplicated by us non-celebrity ladies into our Street CHIC looks.
The first trend from that night was soft pink and white dresses. You saw it on stars from Zoe Saldana to Jennifer Lawrence, who looked absolutely stunning in the pale hues. A good way to rock this trend is by wearing a dress in that tone, either in white or very pale pink. You can even switch it up by wearing a different pale hue, such as blue, green, peach, you name it. If you think a dress may be too much you can opt for a pale or white blouse and pair it with a skirt or pants in a more neutral color to still give off that vibe.
From pale to grand, many stars also donned royal blue. This color is flattering on almost every skin tone and every lady that night rocked the blue hue like it was their job. With royal blue you can wear just about anything like jeans, flats, dresses, blouses, you can have fun and pair it wit almost anything.
Another trend from the red carpet is wearing red! This may be difficult to pull off at an awards show because obviously the carpet is red and your dress must be a stunner and you must feel really confident so that you can stand out and above the carpet. There are many shades of the red color family that you can wear that will still make you look fabulous. Just take a look at Kerry Washington’s off-red Miu Miu dress.
Last but not least, and we are sure you have heard about this many, many times, but stripes are so in this season! Don’t opt for just vertical or perpendicular lines, which will look fabulous, but try some stripes that go in random ways to fit your body shape. Halle Berry went for a more structured look that still had stripes that hugged her body, but so did Stacy Keibler, and both looked amazing. Don’t be afraid to try something different!
These are just a few of the trends that we saw at the 2013 Academy Awards. Is it just me or was this year probably one of the best for style and fashion? They rocked it this year.
