Forget 2013 being the year of the serpent; it’s all about that Queen of China, Rihanna! After all of the hard work and hurdles that she has moved through and continues to overcome, how about a round of applause for the woman having her best year yet? Just last week she was celebrating her 25th birthday in Hawai’i with family and friends, and next week she begins her Diamonds World Tour.
Maybe you have heard her latest song, “Stay”? It is the 17th song of Rihanna’s to join the Top 5 hits in the U.S., based on the Billboard Hot 100! With the multitude of mesmerizing songs and moving music videos, it is almost not surprising that Rihanna’s VEVO page now has over 3.4billion views, claiming the title of most viewed on Youtube.
As if we were not impressed enough by the wisdom and melodies coming from inside of her, she is also becoming increasingly involved in the world of fashion and is now known for her chic street style exterior. RiRi’s looks often mix glamour with grunge in a cohesive, creative manner. Her confidence to play with hair colors and styles is inspiring, and she rocks a bold purple lip with ease. Even at the Grammys, she balanced her old Hollywood makeup and classic red in her custom Azzedine Alaia drew with a sheer-covered midriff and slightly messy, loose curls. Next time you’re at a loss for what to toss on, let Queen RiRi inspire you:
Rihanna for River Island is another connection between the artist and the world of fashion. Rihanna brought her style to the real runway with a very exciting and capturing show, using a unique catwalk design and sporadic lighting. The common threads in her collection were the navy, grey, black, and white base colors that worked in harmony with the stripes, denim, and neon yellow pops in each look.
You can find her Rihanna for River Island collection available to you on March 5, when it launches online and in selected stores.
And it doesn’t stop there! Already on the cover of Rolling Stones magazine two weeks ago, Rihanna just recently wrapped up a shoot with Kate Moss for the cover for V Magazine and will be the April covergirl for Elle magazine. To top it all off, she will be releasing a MAC collection, called RiRi [Hearts] MAC, this May!
