Stripes, you’ve seen them everywhere this season and they are here to stay! Though stripes are a major trend for the Spring, many women feel like stripes are not for them. Some feel that they may be too small, too tall, or even too voluptuous to pull off stripes, but ladies I’m here to tell you that there is a stripe for everyone !
Stripes can be worn in a very CHIC way by anybody, but the major key to it all is knowing your body type and how to dress it to balance out the smaller or bigger half, whichever you are conscious about.
There are 4 general body types used to describe a woman’s body type, there’s the
2) the pear
3)the hourglass and
4) the banana. Remember , for each type there is a stripe!
First , there’s the apple shape. Most woman whom have an apple shape tend to be top-heavy and have a smaller lower half . So for this body type, I would recommend a solid shirt on the top paired with narrow or medium-width horizontal stripes on the lower half of the body, such as a nice pair of pants or a skirt. This makes the bottom half look bigger, which ultimately allows the top half to balance out with the bottom half. Here’s an example of a way to allow stripes into your wardrobe:
