There are many ways to fight the once a month acne problems that may occasionally come our way. If you get acne but it is only during this time during the month it might not be worth spending tons of money of various expenses acne cleanses that require multiple products. There are a few at home remedies you can create, various inexpensive drug store products to try and items you may already use for other purposes that can work to clear up those sudden breakouts.
Heres three recipes for face masks that can be created to clear up sudden acne breakouts:
1 teaspoon Honey
1 tablespoon Olive oil
2 teaspoons Sugar
1/8 cup Lemon juice
2 tablespoons Baking soda
Directions: Mix all ingredients together and let sit on face for about 15 minutes and wash off afterwards.Then apply lemon juice directly to the areas with acne using a cotton ball and let sit for another 5 minutes before washing off.
The olive oil will work to soften the skin and reduce the prominence of any acne. The lemon juice helps to reduce the appearance of any acne scars by lightening them.
2 teaspoons oatmeal
1 teaspoon baking soda
Mix together 2 teaspoons of oatmeal, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and enough water to form a paste. Smooth the paste all over your face and gently rub it in and let sit for 10 minutes before rinsining. The baking soda works great to reduce acne scars and the oatmeal is soothing and will reduce inflammation.
Yeast & Yogurt mask
1 teaspoon brewers yeast
1/8 cup plain yogurt
Mix yogurt and brewers yeast for a little so it has a thin texture. Apply directly to face and leave it on for about 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing with warm water. This treatment is good for people that tend to have more oily skin which can cause breakouts.
For individuals that are pressed for time and want a quick and easy acne solution here are a few products that can be picked up over the counter at your local pharmacy.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser ($9.99, CVS Pharmacy)- This cleanser works well to clear up acne and has a moisturizure in it which prevents skin from drying out. Use this product once to twice a day depending on the severity of acne.
Noxema Triple Clean Anti Blemish Pads ($3.59, CVS Pharmacy)- These are super fast and easy to use on the go and leave the skin with a fresh and cleansed feeling. Just use a pad on the face, toss and go.
If you don’t have the time to make a mask or stop at the store here are some other surprising effective acne treatments that can be used for on the spot breakouts.
Toothpaste Wash your face beforehand and put toothpaste directly on the areas of the face with acne. Let the toothpaste dry and sit overnight and wash off in the morning. The toothpaste helps to dry out areas of the skin with acne and reduce the size of pimples within a few days.
Neosporin Wash face and then apply a thin layer of this to the face and let sit overnight. Rinse it off in the morning and repeat for about a week. The neosporin helps to spot reduce the size of large and painful pimples.
Ice Cubes Wrap some ice in cloth and rub it directly on the face for about 10 minutes daily. The ice helps to lessen inflammation and makes the skin smoother.
