CHIC ladies and gentleman now have a fashionable spot in DC to get designer looks at a fraction of the price!
Nordstrom Rack is on 18th and L Street, formerly occupied by Borders Book Store. If you’ve ever been to Borders when it was open, then you know how spacious the location is. Perfect for Nordstrom Rack! There is plenty space for all things CHIC in both the women’s and mens departments. It’s also situated near restaurants, bars and work places, making retail therapy easily accessible anytime of the day.
Walking in to the store, my jaw dropped. So many designer clothes, many things for 50% off or even more! I found designer items such as Michael Kors, Tahari, Betsey Johnson, Calvin Klein, you name it! So many things for less than $20 i am surprised I was able to contain myself from splurging.
I really liked how everything was divided and set up, making it really easy to find what you were looking for. The shoe section seems like it goes on for days, but I am not complaining! The accessories section is right in the middle of the store, with designer purses, scarves, and cute little hair embellishments to spice up any look! The best part is that the selection for each of these things is great, giving the shopper many size, style, and color options. Whatever your go-to look is, you are bound to find it at this Nordstrom Rack.
Something else that I really enjoyed is how clean and organized everything was. Every single employee was working really hard to keep the store professional and neat. This store must have seen, without exaggeration, a few thousand people just in one day. Almost 12 hours later, with the after-work rush coming in, every employee was polite and helpful.
Gabrielle, a customer browsing the shoe department, said the employees were very nice and gave great customer service. She bought some fabulous Via Spiga shoes for 50% off and loved how fresh and young everything in the store was. The location, price, and all the bright colors are what originally brought Gabrielle in. Like most of the shoppers Gabrielle was also in a hurry to beat the rush hour, but not before doing a little shopping.
I did get to speak to two employees who were both very delightful. The first was Dom Byrd, who’s favorite section is the men’s department, but said that plenty of detail was given to the women’s department to better fit every woman’s style.
I also talked Garrick Holland, who’s favorite section was the women’s department and was glad the store carries designers such as Michael Kors for a great price. Another favorite was to see all the beautiful people shopping with huge smiles on their faces and all the outfits put together!
The technology in the store was also tremendously helpful. With employees, who were easily found with their bright green shirts, ringing customers up with iPhones, it made the cashier line move really quickly, making the shopping experience pleasant from start to finish.
I can definitely say that I will be making some more Nordstrom Rack stops after work. It will be money well spent to stay trendy on a budget!
