There were many showcases at Fashion Week in New York. Models strutted the runway in the latest spring fashions. Even face-lifts….yes, you heard me. Dr. Ramtin Kassir, a tri-state area plastic surgeon, opened the first ever Faces of Fashion runway.
Although not an official NYFW show, the Face of Fashion runway consisted of hand-picked, “plastic surgery” models by Kassir’s publicist — strutted the runway at Central Park, “before” and “after” pictures flashed on two background screens, along with a rundown of the surgeries the men and women had endured.
Audience members consisted of fellow patients and friends-of-models.
It was reported throughout the night, Kassir insisted that pride in past surgery is a New York-area thing. If the work is subtle enough that no one can detect it, all the more reason to feel good about it, the logic goes. Tuesday night was therefore a “celebration” among friends.
One can argue if either this was indeed a walking ad or just display of a growing trend based on plastic surgery. You be the judge. Tell us what you think below.
