During Paris Fashion Week, many fashion designers are revealed their spring/summer 2014 line. Model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley walked the catwalk with a plethora of houndstooth and gold chains. Not only was she not wearing make-up but her top was see-through with a complex design strategically protecting her modesty and exposure. The tribute to the eighties was exhibited through the spring collection. The main themes for the collection were paneling, checks, and houndstooth designs that graced the runway. The beauty trend involved minimal to no make up. Concealer was used to conceal blemishes and to give a polished look. Rosie’s hair was kept natural and straight as she walked the Balmain runway along with fellow Brit models Georgia May Jagger and Edie Campbell.
Balmain’s collection focused on quilted fashion looks. He allows his designs and fashion to be edgy but chic. If you are not into sheer, you can always indulge in the checkered and hoodstooth look trend. The new season collection focused on texture; from the quilted jackets and skirts, to beaded and checked fashion. His collection brought the eighties back with a twist that can be worn in Spring/Summer 2014.
