Ever proud of their Sicilian roots, Dolce and Gabbana takes a decidedly royal historical approach to their Fall 2014 Menswear collection.
Dolce and Gabbana was in the details, like double-breasted jackets, nipped in waists, and stitched-down lapels.
The line featured sweatshirts in suede, velvet, and silk materials with images of Norman kings screen printed on the front and along the sleeves.
Suits and jackets featured images of none other than suits of amours, and cathedral peaks, running the length of the impeccably tailored outerwear.
Thick lines were featured on slim trouser pants and classic pinstripe details adorned more modern looking suits.
The colorpalette features deep rich gem tones, with royal blues, chocolate browns, emerald greens, aubergine purples, and wine red.
The accessories brought the historical fantasy to life, with bejeweled crowns, ornate leather gloves, and shoes, and chainmail-inspired head and neck wraps.
While the collection is very vivid and bold, the pieces appear surprisingly wearable. Each piece breathes new life into any dated wardrobe; ironic, perhaps, but nothing short of deliciously genius from Dolce and Gabbana.
