Warm cheeks, natural lips, and windswept hair graced the runway for Michael Kors’ Fall 2014 RTW collection at New York Fashion Week.
Nothing completes a designer’s collection better than the perfect beauty look. While other designers went for stark or bold eyes/lips, Michael Kors opted for a more natural elegance, with a touch of warmth. Fall is usually reserved for darker colors on the eyelids and lips, but Kors decided to add some Californian sun to his model’s beauty looks.
Head makeup artist Dick Page utilized Michael Kors own makeup line with a bonze powder in Glow buffed along the contours of the model’s faces. Their lips were lightly dusted with the lipstick Dame, just enough to create a mauve-y pink. There were strong eyebrows, and eyelids were rimmed in chocolate brown, topped off with a slight sheen. The look was completed with hair that was tousled and wavy, pulled back and away from the face. A few messy tendrils were pulled to the front, to achieve that west coast beach meets east coast city gal.
The look is so versatile, so achievable, it instantly translates from catwalk to sidewalk.
